Proceedings from PERICLES, a four-year EU-funded research project (2013-2017) that addressed the challenge of ensuring that digital content remains accessible and reusable over the long-term in an environment that is subject to continual change. The PERICLES consortium brought together academic institutions with expertise in various aspects of digital preservation and information analytics, commercial partners including SMEs and a multinational corporation, and non-academic public sector organisations with digital holdings in the creative arts, archives, and scientific data.
The project delivered a portfolio of models, services, tools and best practice guidelines for the support of preservation through ecosystem and lifecycle management.
The Zenodo collection includes all papers published by PERICLES partners during the project duration.
Research outputs can also be found in the resource hub Preserveware, an open platform for all IT solutions and relevant research dedicated to managing and preserving digital assets over time (http://www.preserveware.com/). Though initiated by PERICLES, this repository is catering for the whole community and not limited to PERICLES results.
The PERICLES (Promoting and Enhancing Reuse of Information throughout the Content Lifecycle taking account of Evolving Semantics) project received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 6 01138.
