This community is managed by the Public Environmental Data Partners (PEDP) "Data Preservation Working Group". In order to submit a dataset for review, a user must be a contributor to PEDP first.  If you are a datathon participant or other adjacent affiliate and you're trying to upload to the Community, please send an email hello@publicenvirodata.org, and specify the Data Preservation Working Group as who you want to communicate with. 

Submissions will be reviewed for inclusion in the PEDP community, based on several critera.  The dataset needs to be catalogued in PEDP's master index of datasets, which is an internal resource and can only be accessed by members of PEDP.  If a user wishes to submit a dataset for inclusion in the PEDP community and is not a member, please message the community managers for further information.

PEDP created it's own metadata standard (why?).  Submissions are also now required to have a metadata file included in the dataset files, using PEDP's Metadata Standard Template [link opens in new window].  The line-by-line guidelines for the PEDP Metadata Standard are available here [link opens in new window].

Please use CC0 for the license for datasets to be included in the PEDP Community.  If you want a different copyright with attribution, please contact the Community administrators.  Thank you!
