The Portal of Journals Scientific Electronics (PPEC), State University of Campinas (Unicamp), maintained by the General Coordination of the University (CGU) and the Library System (SBU) , born from the need to have, in a single platform, the meeting all edited and produced under the University journals.

Its main objective, therefore, is to ensure and support the qualification and visibility of scientific periodicals linked to the institutes, colleges, centers, research centers and complementary bodies of Campinas, refereed by peers and institutionally linked to the University, ensuring the diversity of institutions and regional and free access to the entire scientific community. For this reason, through the Ordinance GR-012/2014 , established by the Dean of the University, it creates the Working Group for the elaboration of guidelines and procedures on the condition of selecting these journals to join the Scientific Electronic Journals Portal University .
