This digital edition of poems from The Scarlet Gown  is based on the text of 2nd edition. The 1rst edition was published in 1891. After the death of Robert Fuller Murray, Andrew Lang has prepared a new edition of his friend's poems, adding to them other texts from his personal papers, or those already published in certain newspapers such as the Punch, Longman's magazine or the Saturday review. Andrew Lang has corrected the text of some of the poems; these corrections are indicated in critical notes of this digital edition.
