Proceedings of the Materials for Advanced Detectors (MAD) Workshop 2026, held in Lyon (France) on October Xth and Yth, 2026.

The MAD workshops are a series of meetings held in Europe, aimed at bringing together expertise relevant to current and future gravitational-wave experimental science. Special emphasis is placed on open issues and key enabling technologies related to materials used in detector mirrors. These workshops offer an informal and unique opportunity for experts from academia and industry, involved or interested in the experimental aspects of future gravitational wave science and technology, to meet and exchange ideas.

The MAD 2026 edition included the opportunity to visit the Laboratoire des Matériaux Avancés (LMA), where mirror coatings for gravitational-wave detectors are currently produced.
