Forward and acknowledgement

This is the Proceedings for the Eighth International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM/8) held in Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, Honolulu, July 15-19, 1991. This 4-volume set contains nearly 400 articles, which are scheduled for presentation at the conference. The papers are divided into 39 sections. Each paper is numbered by the section number, which is followed by a letter designation arranged alphabetically and page numbers within each paper. The authors' index in the back of the fourth volume gives the paper number: e.g., 25 - B.

Not included in the Proceedings are the Scala Lecture by Jerome R. Jaeb, the Boeing Company, "Boeing Composite Materials Products and Standardizations of Composite Materials," and a keynote lecture by Sokichi Umekawa, the Science University of Tokyo, entitled "Composites in Japan." Another 100 presentations, not included in the Proceedings, will also be scheduled at the conference.

We are grateful for the support received from our primary sponsor:
