Human Evolution Lab is an independent research initiative concerned with human complexity, cognition, and transformation in the context of rapid technological and ecological change.
The Lab stewards long-horizon inquiry across systems anthropology, evolutionary behavioural frameworks, protective design theory, and the epistemological dimensions of human-AI interaction. Work is oriented by a foundational conviction: that understanding why humans respond as they do — at biological, social, narrative, and transcendent registers — is the prior condition for designing systems, institutions, and technologies that serve rather than diminish human flourishing.
Papers published under this community represent original theoretical and applied contributions across these bodies of inquiry. The Lab is founded and stewarded by Anne Burlinson, systems anthropologist and independent researcher.
