Informatics Europe ECSS – European Informatics Leaders Summit
The European Informatics Leaders Summit (ECSS) is the flagship annual event of Informatics Europe, bringing together heads of informatics departments, research directors, deans, and other academic and institutional leaders from across Europe.
ECSS provides a unique forum for the exchange of experiences and perspectives on strategic, managerial, and leadership challenges in informatics research and education. Unlike traditional scientific conferences, it focuses on the people and institutions shaping the future of the discipline — discussing trends, policies, and practices that impact informatics in academia and society.
The first Summit was held in 2005, and the event has been organised annually ever since. Until 2023, it was known as the European Computer Science Summit (ECSS). Renamed in 2024 to European Informatics Leaders Summit to reflect its broadened scope and emphasis on leadership, management, and strategy within informatics institutions.
This Zenodo community hosts presentations, session materials, and outputs from the various editions of ECSS, ensuring long-term access and citation through permanent DOIs.
The ECSS is organised annually by Informatics Europe in collaboration with leading universities, research centres and companies across Europe.
