DiffServ4NS is an open-source Differentiated Services module originally written by Sergio Andreozzi in 2001 for ns-2.29 as part of his MSc thesis at the University of Bologna. The module implements the IETF DiffServ architecture (RFC 2474, RFC 2475) with srTCM and trTCM meters (RFC 2697 / RFC 2698), AF (RFC 2597) and EF (RFC 2598) PHBs, and a suite of schedulers (PQ, CBQ, WRR, WFQ, WF2Q+, LLQ).
This community collects all artefacts in the DiffServ4NS ecosystem:
- Source code: the 2001 ns-2.29 original (preserved read-only), a 2026 ns-2.35 port layer, and a new ns-3 port (feature-complete).
- Thesis: the 2001 MSc thesis that originated the module, as the design document.
- Evaluation artefacts: simulation traces, reproducible scenario scripts, and RFC conformance vectors
All code is released under GPL-2.0-or-later, preserving the original 2001 license. Documentation and artefacts are CC BY 4.0 unless marked otherwise.
