The Big Data Study, Research and Extension Group was created in 2015 at the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo - EPUSP, Brazil, and is made up of professors, graduate and undergraduate students, in addition to national and international collaborators linked to private and governmental institutions.
Develop study, research and extension activities related to data management, in large or complex volumes, in which conventional applications are inadequate, facing the challenges of: capture, data curation, research, sharing, storage, interoperability, visualization, analysis and data policy and management. The Big Data applications considered are focused on scientific data management that enable the new science based on the use and reuse of data, in addition to government and private sector applications, which seek efficiency in terms of cost, productivity and innovation.
