Purpose

The Africitizen Community on Zenodo serves as an open repository for citizen-generated data, research outputs, policy briefs, and learning materials that advance participatory governance and sustainable development in Africa. The aim is to ensure that all shared content is credible, reusable, and aligned with Africitizen’s mission of fostering evidence-based local action.

Scope of Submissions

The community accepts:

• Datasets collected through Africitizen projects (e.g., Wegov, Citizen Data Scientist Program, local observatories);

• Policy briefs, reports, and case studies related to local governance, agriculture, health, education, or environment;

• Educational materials, toolkits, and training outputs;

• Publications or working papers co-authored with Africitizen or its partners.

Submissions must clearly indicate their origin, authorship, and date of production.

Curation and Review Process

All submissions are moderated before publication to ensure:

1. Relevance to Africitizen’s mission and thematic focus;

2. Completeness of metadata (title, author(s), description, keywords, and license);

3. Clarity of data documentation (including methods, formats, and sources);

4. Compliance with ethical standards regarding privacy and consent, where applicable.

The Africitizen editorial team reserves the right to request revisions or reject submissions that do not meet these criteria.
