Bangladesh Journal of Dental Research & Education is the official publication of Bangladesh Academy of Dentistry International. The Journal is published twice a year in the month of January and July.
• The Journal publishes original papers, case reports and review articles related to dental/Medical sciences. The style of the papers should be in the modified Vancouver style (Ref. New England Journal of Medicine 1991: 324 : 428-8)
• Paper should be submitted to the Chief Editor, Bangladesh Journal of Dental Research & Education, Bangladesh Academy of Dentistry International. 19/1, Panthapath, Room No- 207-209, 1st Floor, Concord Regency (opposite to Square Hospital), Dhaka-1205, Bangladesh. Papers should be written in English and two copies must be submitted with two sets of illustrations. Manuscripts should be typed on one side of white paper (size-A4) with margin of at least one inch. Double spacing should be used throughout. Manuscripts will be reviewed by the editorial board and are subject to editorial revision.
Paper should be accompanied by a soft copy preferably CD in Microsoft Word.
• Each of the following sections should begin on separate pages as: title, abstract/summary and key words, text (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, etc. for an Original article) acknowledgement, references, individual tables and legends. Page should be numbered consecutively beginning with title page. Manuscripts must be accompanied by covering letter.
• Manuscripts must include (i) A statement that the work has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. (ii) A statement that the manuscript has been read, approved and signed by all authors. (iii) Any work which has been carried out in part or fully abroad, must be accompanied by a letter from the head of the institution where the work was done stating that the work has been carried out in that institute and that there is no objection to its publication in this Journal. Manuscripts should be typed double -spaced on one side of the paper (size 8.5 x 11 inches) with one inch margins, and pages should be numbered consecutively. Each of the following sections should begin on separate pages as : title page, abstract, text, references, tables and figures.
• The first page of the manuscript should include the title followed by the names of all authors including degrees. Whether the paper is an original article, a review article or a case report; should be mentioned. A listing of academic rank or position and the institutional affiliations for each author should follow. The title page should also include the name, address, telephone number, fax number and E-mail address (optional) of the author who will receive editorial correspondence and reprint requests.
Abstract: Structured abstract of 200 words or less is preferred. A structured abstract contains the following sections: Introduction, describing the problem; Methods, describing how the study was performed; Results, describing the primary results and conclusions, reporting what the authors conclude from the findings and any clinical implications.
Keywords: Multiple key words of the articles should be mentioned-permitted to 2 to 5 key words.
Introduction: Should include nature and purpose of the study, rationale of the study/observation, strictly pertinent references and brief review of the subject excepting data and conclusion.
Methods:
• Study type, place and time
• Description of study variables Selection criteria
• Approval of the study involving human subjects by ethical review committee and description of the ethical aspects in such study
• Description of statistical procedure with enough detail to enable a knowledgeable reader with access to the original data to verify the reported results.
Results: Present the results with a minimum discussion. Use tables, charts, Figures and photographs as appropriate to clarify the findings. Mention the methods of statistical analysis, if applicable.
Discussion: Point out the significance of the data and the limitations. The authors comment on the result and to relate themto those of the other authors, the relevance to experimental research or clinical practice.
References: Should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are mentioned in the text. Examples of correct forms of reference are given below.

Acknowledgements: Individuals, organizations or bodies may be acknowledged in the article and may include (a) Name (or a list) o ffunding bodies (b) Name of the organization (s) and individual (s)with their consent.
Editing: All submitted manuscripts are subject to scrutiny by the Editor-in-Chief or any member of the Editorial Borad. Manuscripts containing materials without sufficient scientific value and of apriority issue, or not fulfilling the requirements for publication maybe rejected or it may be sent back to the author( s) for resubmission with necessary modifications to suit one of the submission categories of the Journal. Manuscripts fulfilling the requirements and found suitable for consideration are sent for pre review. Submissions, found suitable for publications by the reviewer, may need revision / modifications before being finally accepted. Editorial Board finally decides upon the publish ability of there viewed and revised I modified manuscript. Proof of an accepted manuscript may be sent to the author( s) and should be corrected and returned to the Editorial Board within one week. No addition to the manuscript at this stage will be accepted. All accepted manuscripts are edited according to the Journal's rule.
