Abbreviations: cm=complete mesenteries, e= sand/detritus encrustation (in B) or where encrustation existed before decalcification (in A), im=incomplete mesenteries, ec=ectoderm, en=endoderm, m=mesoglea, ss=encrusted sponge spicules. Scales: A=100 µm, B=200 µm.
