Description
Bauhinia acuminata, commonly known as Kanchnar used in many ayurvedic formulations against various diseases and disorders. The plant is highly effective in curing cold and cough, biliousness, asthma, bladder stone, skin disease, scabies, wounds, and sore eyes etc. It shows the presence of flavonoids, glycosides, alkaloids, tannins, and terpenoids responsible for different pharmacological action of Bauhinia acuminata. Keeping this in mind, an attempt has been made to present its botany, ethnomedicinal uses, pharmacological uses to bring attention towards its conservation and cultivation. The photographs are provided for the easy identification in the field.
