Description

We study the spiral population in the nearby and relaxed cluster A496 (z=0.033). It was covered by a large volume of HI (21cm) data carried out with the NRAO-VLA. We perform a multifrequency study to explore the principal mechanisms of perturbation, disruption, and remotion of gas. We show that A496 unveils a complex distribution of the HI detections which are mostly projected onto the central regions. We analyzed the orbital histories of the studied galaxies based on the projected phase-space (PPS) distribution and we reported that A496 is a very peculiar system with a HI deficiency that is not growing towards the cluster center. Finally, the cluster does not show strong evidence of pre-processing of galaxies (López-Gutiérrez et al. 2022, MNRAS,517,1218)
