Fostering PID adoption and Open Research Regulations in Asia
Description
Asian countries are producing various research outputs and resources, such as datasets, dissertations, and protocols. These outputs are not getting the recognition and visibility they deserve. Adoption of persistent identifiers (PIDs) can improve the discoverability of these outputs and promote reusability by sharing them with the broader research community. DataCite is a leading global nonprofit membership organization that provides PIDs for research data and other outputs and resources. We have introduced our Global Access Program (GAP) to improve equity, access, and adoption of PID infrastructure for communities in underrepresented countries, including the Asian countries with a special focus on South Asia and South-East Asia.
In his presentation, Prof. Mohd Basyaruddin talks about the role of policy makers in fostering PID adoption and open research regulations in Asia.
