Earth and Space Research (ESR) Salinity Validation Data System (SVDS) Technical Report: NASA/RSS SMAP Salinity Version 5.0 Validation Analysis.

This report documents the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) sea surface salinity (SSS) measurement uncertainty characteristics, including residual errors in version 5.0 of the SMAP data product provided by Remote Sensing Systems (RSS), which is sponsored by the NASA Ocean Salinity Science Team. The report provides a systematic estimation and assessment of satellite sea surface salinity over the global ocean, including but not limited to match-ups with in situ data and triple point collocation analysis.
