Description
Recently, the desire to investigate the dissipative (damping) effects of liquid fuel slosh on ‘winglike’ structures (beams) has become a topic of interest [4, 8]. The objective is to better understand these phenomena and ultimately improve on the design of aircraft by reducing manufacturing cost and weight while improving fatigue life. The aforementioned experiments colloquially referred to as Protospace, lead to the formation of the SLOWD (Sloshing Wing Dynamics) project (Grant agreement ID: 815044) which aims to further investigate and characterize liquid slosh induced damping both experimentally and numerically [2, 3]
