Description
The current administration made the decision to restructure the Indian education system by announcing a comprehensive National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in order to support the sector's growth. The Prime Minister must take this crucial action in order to fully capitalise on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and propel India to new heights. The present national education policy is centred on an India-centric education system in 2020, which will help to make our country once again a global leader by offering all students a high quality education. NEP 2020, the National Policy on Education, calls for creative, significant improvements to teacher preparation. Chapter 15 of NEP-2020, which describes reforms to educational policy, contains suggestions on teacher education. There are eleven sub-points in all. The main goal of the NEP is to ensure that teachers receive the best possible training in the creation of lesson plans, instruction, and skills. It also aims to integrate the teacher education system into multidisciplinary faculties and universities, with a 4-year integrated B.Ed. offered by these institutions becoming the required degree for school teachers by the year 2030. The goal of the current study is to evaluate NEP 2020 in light of paradigm shifts occurring in the field of teacher preparation.
