Description

NFDI4Biodiversity serves a diverse stakeholder group in biodiversity research and conservation, addressing a wide array of data handling needs. Over the past three years, we have built a comprehensive Service Portfolio and formulated a quality management strategy for partner services, while promoting FAIR data principles. Key highlights include:

- Service Portfolio: Cataloging 80 services from 23 partners as a basis for consolidating community tools and technologies, with the GFBio Data Centers serving dual roles.

- Helpdesk: A collaborative Helpdesk for user support, organized in partnership with various organizations.

Quality of Services: Implementation of a quality management strategy encompassing primary quality standards, developmental goals, specific quality objectives, and tailored quality assurance processes, monitored through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

- Promoting FAIR Data: Active promotion of FAIR data principles, enhancing findability, interoperability, and reusability. This includes the implementation of Bioschemas.org, ABCD consensus elements, and a new ontology service.

- Sustainable Portfolio Management: Measures to guide service providers toward adopting common standards and technologies, with a sustainability assessment underway.

- Reference Implementation: Progress toward realizing the Research Data Commons (RDC) as a self-service platform, including testing components and negotiations for broader adoption.

- Policies:  Resource Provider Workshops to define requirements for data and service provider policies, focusing on legal frameworks, licensing, FAIR resource guidance, and CoreTrustSeal (CTS) certification.

NFDI4Biodiversity is committed to advancing biodiversity research and conservation through user-centric services, quality, and FAIR data principles.
