Type locality: Kondatchi Paar, Sri Lanka.

Synonyms: Ampelisca iyoensis Nagata, 1959.

Distribution. World: Sri Lanka (Walker 1904), India (Nayar 1959).

India: Western India Ecoregion: Kerala (Nair et al. 1983); South India Ecoregion: Kerala (Rabindranath 1975); Tamil Nadu (Nayar 1966); Eastern India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Naya, 1959; Venkataraman 2007).
