Description
Pollutants which are emitted during the combustion of wood are NOx, CO, CO2, SO2, VOCs and particulate matter (PM) to name just a few [2]. Some of the main environmental impacts such as photochemical smog and acid rain as well as impact on human health are caused by NOx [3,4].
One way to reduce the emissions of NOx is the selective catalytic reduction (SCR). These catalysts are installed in a high dust, a low dust or a tails end configuration [5]. In this project named DeNOx-DePM, the catalyst will be added directly to the flue gas to create a catalytically active filter cake and after deactivation the catalyst can be removed together with the fine dust at a mesh filter.
