Description
The main challenge of the current digital transition is to utilize computing media and cutting-edge technology
in a more meaningful way, which would make the archaeological and anthropological research outcomes
relevant to a heterogeneous audience. Subsequently, there is an undeniable need for the digitalization of
cultural assets and the transformation of the stories of ancient civilizations into an accessible digital form.
As a result, Serious Games theory can be combined with novel technologies to present Cultural Heritage to
a wide audience. This contribution proposes a methodology that focuses on transforming the traditional
exhibit-centric archaeo-anthropological findings into story-centric immersive and interactive narrations
through gamification while exploiting Serious Games techniques in augmented and virtual experiences.
