Green Open Access During And After The COVID-19 Pandemic
Description
In the COVID-19 pandemic, it became much more critical for many researchers to disseminate preliminary versions of their results from one day to the next. This kind of “save the world” feeling prompted a search for ways to circumvent the lengthy publication procedures for journal articles, and many researchers decided to post preprints as upstream publication opportunities. We investigate whether this is a temporary phenomenon or the beginning of a cultural shift in publishing behaviour in the scholarly communication system.
