Long-term basin-scale hydropower expansion under alternative scenarios in a global multisector model

Description

GCAM version used for Zhang et al. (2022).

Please note that to ensure capacity expansion is in line with anticipated growth in the near term, we manually adjusted near-term hydropower production in region-basins given the number of dams under construction and their capacities in the corresponding time period based on the Future Hydropower Reservoirs and Dams Database (FHReD). Please refer to the details in the paper.

The manually adjusted endogenous_hydropower.xml file is included and can replace the auto-generated endogenous_hydropower.xml by the data system to replicate the same results in the paper.
