(Figure 5A–C)

Material examined

2 colonies, polyp, without gonophores; Caleritas Beach, La Paz Bay, Baja California Sur, 24.350°N, 110.290°W; depth 0–1 m, 30 April 2017; on rock; ECO-CH-Z 11774.

This constitutes a new record of the genus Hydrocoryne for the Gulf of California. In the MP, the medusa stage of Hydrocoryne miurensis Stechow, 1908, has been recorded in Guerrero (Bigelow 1909).

Remarks

Distinction between species of the genus Hydrocoryne is based on the medusa stage.
