Right To Health And Logistics Management For The Provision Of Medications To The City Of Teresina

Description

This study, based on bibliographic and documentary research, aims to elucidate the role of Logistics Management in the provision of medicines by the Public Health System in the municipality of Teresina, acknowledging that effective management of public resources is vital to achieving desired social goals. Administrative excellence should be an unquestionable commitment of public managers, especially when considering that the resources they manage come from citizens' tax contributions. The right to health for all should be ensured in a uniform and equitable manner in any Federal Unit. The distribution of medicines, through pharmaceutical assistance, in Teresina under the tutelage of the Municipal Health Foundation, culminates in public policies aimed at the promotion, maintenance, and recovery of health, encompassing the stages of selection, planning, acquisition, storage, distribution, and dispensation of medicines. If well managed, these activities contribute to the continuous availability of medicines according to the population's needs, ensuring their well-being and guardianship of life as provided for in the Brazilian Constitution of 1988.
