Satellite galaxies in nearby groups: distribution, kinematics and star-forming properties

We study the distribution, kinematics and star formation properties of satellite galaxies in five nearby groups of galaxies, which were observed spectroscopically with the Hobby-Eberly Telescope. We find that the density profile of studied groups can be fitted by low concentration NFW model. Their generally flat LOS velocity dispersion profiles reveal some signatures of dynamical evolution near the group center. We find that various star-formation characteristics of satellite galaxies tie with projected group-centric radius and with local galaxy number density. We compare our findings with those of two other samples of nearby groups.
