Description
Did the mass digitization of historical literature produce a digital archive that accurately reflects what was published in the eighteenth century? I compare four databases of English literature, manually identifying authorial gender, to show a surprising over-representation of women's writing in Eighteenth Century Collections Online and HathiTrust.
