Description
SimulaBeta is a continuous numerical simulation program for insulin-glucose feedback control. It is based on a published nonlinear MiMe-NoCoDI model of insulin-glucose homeostasis, calibrated with physiological data.
Field of analysis supported by the application include:
- Investigating the dynamics of insulin-glucose homeostasis during restoration after perturbations
- Studying the evolution of steady-state concentrations of glucose and insulin depending on constant structure parameters of the feedback loop
- Performing virtual dynamic function tests including intravenous and oral glucose tolerance testing.
- Load, reference and modulation sequencer (LOREMOS) for simulating complex temporal patterns of external influences.
- Basic statistical evaluation of time series
- Two-way sensitivity analysis
The software supports saving and reading parameter sets and sub-models as scenarios and the export of simulation results in various formats for evaluation in statistics packages
