Description

PHREEQC inputs and thermodynamic data, as well as the spreadsheet and C implementations of the model used in determining spatial distributions of salts in Naseem et al. (2023) "Salt distribution from freezing intrusions in ice shells on ocean worlds: Application to Europa", published in the Planetary Science Journal. This software is also available at https://github.com/MarcNeveu/frezchem (PHREEQC_Frz.txt committed on Oct. 14, 2021, to be used with PHREEQC v3, and PHREEQC_Pipeline_v3.xlsx post-processing spreadsheet committed on Sept. 3, 2021) and https://github.com/MarcNeveu/IceShellXtal (C implementation, v23.5.1). The generic input files provided can be modified with the input conditions provided in Table 2 of Naseem et al. (2023) to reproduce the results of Table 2 and Fig. 1, 5, and 7. The PHREEQC v3 software is available at https://www.usgs.gov/software/phreeqc-version-3.
