Bioinformatics and Its Application in Molecular Microbiology

Bioinformatics has evolved from the pre-ge-nome era to the post-genome era. And its main research content has shifted from the comparison of DNA and protein sequences, target region analysis, large-scale data integration, and visualization, to comparative genomics, metabolic network analysis, gene expression network analysis, protein structure and function analysis, drug target screening, and more. ln the current post-genome era, bioinformatics has become an important method for biological research. Due to the high frequency of variation in microbial genes, the poly-morphism of microbes is a challenging yet popular topic in microbial research, especially research on pathogenic microorganisms.
