ABSTRACT
This research paper aims to delve into the challenges and emerging issues surrounding
India's Anti-Defection Law. The Anti-Defection Law, enacted in 1985, was introduced to curb
political defections and maintain the stability of the Indian parliamentary system. However,
over the years, several challenges and issues have arisen in its implementation, raising
questions about its effectiveness and impact on democratic processes. This paper will explore
the constitutional and legal framework of the law, examine the challenges faced in its
interpretation and application, analyze the emerging issues related to party discipline and
