First records of Lygaeus creticus Lucas, 1854 for Lebanon and several Mediterranean islands, with remarks on some distribution records

Description

The first record of Lygaeus creticus Lucas, 1854 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeidae) for Lebanon is provided. Further records for several Mediterranean islands are also reported. Some country records are discussed: those for Saudi Arabia and North Macedonia are preventively excluded from the distribution of this species pending further research.
