Description

The role of journalists, photojournalists, cameramen, eyewitness bloggers, and recorders, all those heroic media professionals who strive to tell the world the truth about Russian aggression, is invaluable. We will talk about those Ukrainian and foreign journalists who are accredited by the Ukrainian authorities, in particular, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, and not by Russian institutions or administrations in the territories occupied and unrecognised by the international community.

The article is dedicated to journalists (both Ukrainian and foreign) who, firstly, fulfil their professional duty and cover the course of the war for Ukraine's independence; secondly, fulfil their civic duty and defend their native land from the Moscow horde with arms in hand. The relevance of such a scientific publication is dictated by the purpose of the study (the need to assess and rethink the work of representatives of the journalistic corps in extreme conditions of hostilities), the tasks (to pay tribute to those who died for freedom and democracy in Ukraine, to capture the names of journalists – victims and heroes of the war – in the memory of Ukrainians), novelty (there are very few publications about journalists in the war in Ukraine, the largest and bloodiest on the European continent since the Second World War).

Research methods: content analysis from open sources, data systematisation and conceptualisation.

1. A scientific comprehension of the heroism and sacrifice of the representatives of the journalistic corps during the war for Ukraine's independence against Moscow, which set out to revive the empire, to destroy first the Ukrainian state and Ukrainians, and later the countries of the European Union and the ideals of Western democracy, is initiated. 2. The first steps have been taken to create a journalistic necropolis in Ukraine.
