(Myrtaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 21(4): 350. 1922.
TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Taai Uen (i.e. Dawei), 26 October 1921, F. A. McClure 1294 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 7678) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00069407 image!).
McClure 7678 was the only gathering cited in the protologue of the name Eugenia maclurei Merr. (Merrill, 1922a). However, the collecting number on the label of the syntype specimen exists in A is 1294, while its herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 7678. Thus, the collecting number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
