The impact of El Niño–Southern Oscillation on the total column ozone over the Tibetan Plateau

Description

This repository contains the TOMCAT model output from the paper "The impact of El Niño–Southern Oscillation on the total column ozone over the Tibetan Plateau" submitted to ACP.

This dataset is based on the global off-line 3-D chemical transport model (TOMCAT) forced with ECMWF reanalyses (ERA5). Data in Figure 1-5 is separately saved as netCDF file.

The dimensions in each file are:

  • lat --------> latitude
  • lon -------> longitude
  • plev ------> pressure level (hPa)
  • season --> seasons of 3-month, values of 12, 1, 2, 3, ......, indicate DJF, JFM, FMA, MAM......, respectively

Figure1 variable: 

  • corr --> Correlation coefficients between the C3S data and TOMCAT.

Figure 2 variables:

  • lead_corr --> Lead correlation coefficients between TCO anomalies and DJF-Niño 3.4 index
  • std ----------> seasonal standard deviations of TCO

Figure 3 variables:

  • Elnino_TCO --> Composite anomalies of TCO during Elnino events
  • Lanina_TCO --> Composite anomalies of TCO during Lanina events

Figure 4 variables:

  • Elnino_O3 -------> Composite percentage changes of ozone profile during Elnino
  • Lanina_O3 -------> Composite percentage changes of ozone profile during Lanina
  • Elnino_O3_sig --> Composite percentage changes of ozone profile exceed the 90% confidence level during Elnino
  • Lanina_O3_sig --> Composite percentage changes of ozone profile exceed the 90% confidence level during Lanina

Figure 5 variables:

  • Elnino_O3 ---> Composite ozone profile during Elnino events
  • Lanina_O3 ---> Composite ozone profile during Lanina events
  • Climate_O3 --> Climate mean of ozone profile from December to May

Figure 6 variables:

  • Elnino_POC --> Composite partial column ozone anomalies during Elnino
  • Lanina_POC --> Composite partial column ozone anomalies during Lanina
  • Elnino_prob ---> Composite p-value during Elnino
  • Lanina_prob ---> Composite p-value during Lanina
