Melese hebetis Rothschild, 1909
Type locality. [Peru, Puno,] La Union, Rio Huacamayo, Carabaya.
Type specimens. Described based on 10 ♁ (NHMUK; one ♁ syntype labeled TYPE).
Taxonomic references. Rothschild (1909; 1910), Hampson (1920), Watson & Goodger (1986) and Vincent & Laguerre (2014).
Material examined. Brazil, Maranhão: Açailândia, 4°57'14.17"S / 47°30'11.08"W. Light traps, 19–27.xi.1990, V.O. Becker legit, 2 specimens (VOB).
Month records in Maranhão. November.
Geographical records in Brazil. Rondônia (Amazon), Bahia (Cerrado), São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná and Santa Catarina (Atlantic Forest).
