SOCIOECONOMIC VULNERABILITY AND SOCIAL SUFFERING IN CAPITALIST SOCIETY: THE NEED FOR PUBLIC POLICIES THAT GUARANTEE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS

The harmful effects of capitalism are notorious, which, while producing wealth, generates poverty and promotes the exclusion of part of the population. This system often leads to the violation of rights guaranteed to individuals, especially of more vulnerable social groups, and therefore facing the dictates of the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil (1988). From this perspective, this study, based on exploratory and bibliographical research, aims to discuss the socioeconomic vulnerability that stems from exclusionary capitalism, which does not ensure full compliance with the precepts to accomplish fundamental rights, causing social suffering that greatly impacts the people's lives. The results show that, when subjects are placed in inferior positions in society, not being recognized as people deserving fundamental rights and guarantees, they end up directed to the zone of social disaffiliation. This zone, resulting from violence perpetuated over time, imposes suffering on these subjects that leads them to an existence of exclusion, being at the mercy of their own fate, as a form of “social condemnation”.
