Decoration Materials in the Interior of Children's Hospitals
Description
The purpose of the article is to conduct research related to defining decoration materials that meet modern approaches in order to create interior space for playrooms, functional and communication space of a children’s hospital. The contemporaneity of the approaches lies in creating a comfortable color-light environment, which significantly affects the emotional state of people, especially children. The research methodology consisted in the analysis of scientific publications on the subject of research, the classification of various types of modern decoration materials, taking into account the specific features of interior design of children’s hospitals. The scientific novelty of the work lies in creating additional recommendations related to selecting decoration materials for children’s hospitals which can complement the requirements of regulatory documents and will help designers choose materials for the interiors of children’s hospitals which will not only be safe but also aesthetic from the point of view of decoration. Conclusions. Non-standard application of decoration materials in interior design can generate a new direction, for example, in processing, and this process is never-ending. As for the materials that are intended for use in children’s hospitals, their range is limited. This comes in response to various restrictions related to safety, hygiene, environmental friendliness, and the requirements of state standards. Thus, it is essential to identity the universally applicable materials that conform to all the requirements and enable the designer to create aesthetically acceptable and comfortable environment for children. A new solution for the designer may be an effective approach to selecting materials not only from the point of view of safety but also from the perspective of the artistic value of the created interior space of the children’s hospital. Modern technological opportunities allow for such an effective approach.
