ipaast-czo data guidance - draft versions circulated for public comment

The ipaast-czo project (Interoperable Precision Agricultural and Archaeological Sensing Technologies - Critical Zone Observation) invited comments on drafts of guidance prepared on a range of remote and near surface sensing data types used in applications across agri-environment and archaeological applications. These documents are intended to improve technical and semantic interoperability of these data types between applications and user communities working in different domains.

Each document includes sections which describe the type of data in general terms, make recommendations for minimal metadata and thematic tags (from standard vocabularies), describe common data processing stages, explain the scope of applications of the data, and provide a short bibliography of relevant literature.

Guides were updated based on comments received. This archive contains the current versions of guides at the end of the funded project period for ipaast (April 2023), together with earlier versions. The project team is grateful to everyone who submitted comments and suggestions in writing as part of the public consultation and who provided feedback on the draft guidance during project workshops. This process greatly helped to improve the documents. We hope they will continue to be updated and evolve as a resource as data interoperability standards in both domains continue to mature.
