The datasets archived here act as supplementary materials to the study entitled ' Rock avalanche caused by nearby fault creep: A case study of Muztag rock avalanche ' by Zhang et al. This study has been submitted to Journal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface for potential publication.
The authors have performed site investigation and run simulations specifically designed for Muztag rock avalanche to explore the potential causal factor. The authors have produced two stages in these simulations (Stage I: fault creep stage; Stage II: rock avalanche stage). Before that, we also considered the stress self-stability process (preparation stage before fault creep). The datasets below summarize the simulation results of the stages with the names of 'Preparation stage, "Stage I’’ and "Stage II’’, respectively.
In each simulation stages, the monitored values of horizontal stress [Pa], shear stress [Pa], displacement [m], velocity[m/s] etc. are recorded as a function of time (Stage I: we use time [year] while In Stage II, we use time [s]), the header of each column in the data tables gives the recorded parameter and its corresponding unit, as shown in the first row.
