INTERNATIONAL LAW AND BRAZILIAN DEMOCRACY: A NECESSARY DIALOGUE

The relationship between Democracy and International Law can be an instrument to be used to reinforce the democratic achievements of humanity after the UN Charter’s creation. Can be quoted as a highlight the analysis of the relationship between democracy and the purpose of International Law, the complexity between sovereignty, consent, and jus gentium, in addition to the means used to guarantee democracy in international law. The research was based on bibliographic and exploratory data, as well as a qualitative nature. As a conclusion, it was understood that International Law can only be used to reinforce the defense of democracy if consented by the State itself. Brazil is linked to the democratic protection system of the United Nations, the Organization of American States and the MERCOSUR, which can be expressed in defense of democracy.
