Cultural Policy of Ukraine in the Conditions of European Integration

The purpose of the article is to analyze the cultural policy of Ukraine at the present stage; to consider cooperation with the European Union in the matter of cultural policy and applying the European model of cultural policy to Ukraine, taking into account the peculiarities of our country. The research methodology consisted in applying the principle of objectivity of analysis, which made it possible to characterize the cultural policy of Ukraine, determine its goals and priorities; the set of culturological methods, which provided for the consideration of the activity of the state concerning the strategy of cultural policy. The principle of historicism allowed for the consideration of certain political phenomena from the point of view of the present. The scientific novelty of the work lies in applying the European strategy for developing cultural policy to Ukrainian culture, its peculiarities and prospects for further cooperation.  Conclusions. Despite the variety of European cultures, they all have very much in common. The cultural policy of Ukraine, through reformation and changes, has to create comfortable conditions for preserving national identity and paving the way for the successful European integration. Today culture in Europe is considered as a tool for building the successful society, as well as the element of developing economy and politics. As a result of all the transformation processes, Ukraine will be able to save its national interests and establish itself as an influential European state and a full-fledged member of the European Union.
