Description
This document contains the conclusions of the analysis done on the validity of IVOA’s Provenance Data Model ([RD.1]) with regards to the Square Kilometre Array’ Science Data Processor. A brief description of what the Provenance information entails will be given, together with important aspects that should be taken into account for the later stages of the project, what information is available via the Critical Design Review documents (and what is missing as of this date), and the differences between the different Reference Data Models.
Over the course of this task, the data models available in the documents [RD.4] and [RD.5] from the Critical Design Review (CDR) have been used to find the Provenance relevant information. In those documents, the information relating to low-level workflow is not contemplated, thus the analysis will be centred on high-level information and provenance. One of the main objectives of this activity consists on implementing the reference data model defined during the previous activity (see document [RD.3]), and studying whether said data model is effective in defining the Provenance information. Additionally, one of the tasks consisted in comparing the use of the activity class and the workflow section from the ProvONE model ([RD.2]) to define low-level workflows.
