Anti-Cancer properties of Taxol

Authors/Creators

Description

Abstract:
Taxol, a chemotherapeutic agent derived from Taxus species, particularly Taxus baccata and wallichiana, has been widely used in the treatment of various cancers, including ovarian, breast, and lung cancer. Taxol has been shown to have potent anti-cancer properties due to its ability to inhibit microtubule depolymerization, resulting in cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. This paper reviews the chemistry of Taxol and its pharmacokinetics, as well as the anti-cancer properties of Taxus baccata and wallichiana. The paper also explores other medicinal herbs that have been shown to have anti-cancer properties.
