Paris-compatible national CO2 budgets: Implicit and explicit weighting of the population in the allocation of a global CO2 budget

Based on the distribution of a global CO2 budget among countries via a weighted distribution key that incorporates emission and population shares in a base year, this tool can be used to calculate the following for all countries in the world:

• Implicit population weighting starting from a national budget that can be derived from an NDC, for example.
• National budgets based on an explicit weighting of the population.
