Results from the largest Airborne Electromagnetic (AEM) survey ever flown in NSW

The Geological Survey of New South Wales (GSNSW) has mapped potential mineral and groundwater features, and the depth of intense weathering by interpreting a large airborne electromagnetic (AEM) dataset in Central NSW. Interpretation of the northern part of the survey is complete and work on the southern part is ongoing at the time of writing. Numerous conductors were interpreted as potential mineral resources. They occur in isolation and near mapped faults. Groundwater has been interpreted along the north-western edge of the survey area, in colluvial and alluvial gravel deposits, at the saprolite basement interface, in palaeochannels and along some faults. The depth of intense weathering in the northern study area is approximately 25-100 m.
