Description
75. Eugenia trikii Lundell, Wrightia 2: 211 (1961a)
EOO: 58,736.479 km ². AOO: 156 km ². Evaluation of IUCN: Least Concern.
Eugenia trikii is distributed from Mexico to Guatemala and Belize (WCSP 2020), and has a wide distribution at least in the Mesoamerican region, including the Mexican southeast, especially the states of Chiapas, Campeche, and Quintana Roo, and with an important collection region in the countries of Guatemala and Belize. The estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) exceeds the thresholds for a threatened category under the criterion B, as well as the area of occupancy (AOO) would probably exceed the thresholds for any threatened category if the remaining habitat available is taken in account. The species occurs in the Humid Tropical Forest, and it is known from 84 records, including several occurrences within biodiversity conservation areas, in Mexico (Montes Azules, Calakmul and El tormento Biosphere reserve), in Guatemala (Maya Biosphere Reserve, Biotopo Naachtún Dos Lagunas) and in Belize (Pine Ridge Forest Reserve). Eugenia trikii was recently classified as Least Concern (LC) (BGCI & IUCN 2019j).
