  • 1. Technical University of Cluj-Napoca

Description

Purpose and / or objectives of the paper: This paper aims to conduct a comparative study dedicated to the dissemination and adaptation of decarbonization solutions in the industrial sector in other economic areas with significant impact on the environment, such as the tourism industry. The sustainability goals and objectives promoted at international and European level cannot be
achieved without a comprehensive technological and economic effort aimed at reducing the carbon footprint, as well as achieving other important goals of environmental protection.

Method / methodology used: The presentation is structured on three important chapters: review of identified solutions in the field of industrial production for low carbon generation, use of an algorithm based on techniques and managerial tools for decision support
(Quality Function Deployment and Balanced Scorecard) for the development and adaptation of the experiences studied in the field of tourism and their personalization for an easier implementation.

Results: Following the proposed approach, the authors generate a list of measures needed for decarbonization, at the level of tourism products / services, of organizations active in the field and at the level of government support policies, accompanied by an assessment of their feasibility. Conclusions: The article ends with a discussion on the degree of urgency and the chances of success of these transformations in the Romanian economy.
